There is an exciting mix of both Classical and
Celtic musical styles on the July 28th programme, which also includes
world premieres by the well known violinist Sue Aston, virtuoso concert
flautist Pippa Drummond and local pianist Douglas Cook.
The popular ensemble continues to grow in numbers, and now includes
guitarists Phil and Dan Aston, who add an extra musical dimension to the
group, and compliment the haunting and evocative music which the
ensemble are renowned for.
The ensemble also features the highly regarded mezzo soprano Maria Heseltine, the violinist Hilary Tyreman, violist Elizabeth Gregg, and cellist Stephen Brown. For more information please call 01736 719342
The Sue Aston Ensemble is a unique group of
Cornish professional musicians and composers are led by
violinist Sue Aston. Sue's music videos feature daily on the Sky
music channel, oMusic. Featuring alongside Sue Aston are the mezzo
soprano Maria Heseltine, the pianist Douglas Cook, violinist Hilary Tyreman,
violist Elizabeth Gregg cellist Stephen Brown and flautist Pippa

The main aim of the Sue Aston Ensemble is to perform new compositions, many of
which are inspired by the Cornish Landscape. The Sue Aston Ensemble
perform new Classical and Celtic music all across Cornwall.
"The landscape of
Cornwall, the sea, the folklore and the lifestyle here are all
tremendous influences on my work and have been for many other composers"
says Sue. "My aim is that the Aston Ensemble will become
synonymous with exciting new musical ventures, as it will showcase the
talents of new composers and excellent musicians".
